Garden Games

In 2008 Garden Games began work on a sand pit that added to our existing range.  We wanted something new and something that gave children something different without taking away any of the play value from the traditional sandpit, which has always been a firm garden favourite. 

Our design team took inspiration from a small sand pit we used to offer and the all new Sand Sailer took shape.

The idea is simple; children love to use their imagination while playing in the sand, well why not encourage them to interact and play with the sand pit itself – not just the sand contained within. 

The Sand Sailer was designed to look like a boat and included a sail and ships steering wheel as well as a sizable area for traditional sand play.  The sand pit area of the boat has two wooden seats that fold down to provide a cover that keeps the sand debris free and the bough of the ship is useful storage for all the children’s sand construction equipment and toys.

The bough of the Sand Sailer also folds out to make a great little play table which has a support that folds away when not in use and the table underside has a black board built in. 

The Sand Sailer is a sizeable pine constructed unit, measuring 2.4 metres by 1.13metres and has a height of 1.35 metres.  The sand pit area is 99cm by 116 cm which gives plenty of space for children and friends.

We are extremely proud of our design and feel that we were very successful in adding lots of fun onto a simple classic. There are so many hours of fun built into this unit that you may not be able to get your children away from it.
